Where did the name Havek Digital come from? The story behind the word Havek stems from my deployment experience with the US Army. When deployed to Iraq, the unit I was with used the call sign havoc. I like to think that we used that call sign because we were disruptive in the insurgency area of operations since our goal was to prevent their explosive devices from doing harm. That leads to the brand name Havek because havoc spelled phonetically is ha-vek, according to Mirriam-Webster. I could have used the correct spelling, but when I was designing branding, the letters' balance with the phonetic spelling felt better. With the word havoc meaning disruption and chaos, what made me think it was THE name for a design company? My goal is to be disruptive to your market and introduce chaos for your competitors.
Why start a business? I started this business to use what I'm good at in a geographic market that does not really have the industry to support creative people. As a spouse of an active duty service member, we live where he works. Those places are typically saturated with retail and government contract jobs, not many creative agencies within commuting distance. To get that agency experience, I created my own. What makes me qualified to build your brand or your website? I have a degree in graphic information technology with a focus on digital communications. I read about UX, web accessibility, and SEO to make sure I stay current with the latest trends. I understand how significant a digital presence is in today's business landscape and know that just having a website isn't good enough; it has to inform and engage.
